Valentine's Day is coming up this Friday the 14th! Valentine's Day is an annual festival that occurs all around the world every year on February 14th. Those who love one another get to express their love with gifts and greetings on this day. Love is expressed loudly - as well as friendship and admiration. All forms of love are allowed to be expressed through gifts and love on this day. (But not in public! Please not in public people!)
Gifts people receive, or buy for others, include candy, love cards, chocolates, flowers, teddy bears, jewelry, and many more, all to show how much you love someone! It is a day of celebration to celebrate romance and love within the people you adore.
Tok School celebrates Valentine's Day along with the rest of the holidays because it is a very sweet holiday where love is spread all around. The high, middle, and elementary schools have different activities to celebrate. Couples from Tok High School were interviewed about their relationship and their plans for Valentine's Day together.
Rebekah Ames and Creede Berg were asked about their plans for their lovely Valentine’s Day in Anchorage. They say, “Anchorage means restaurants, bowling because we have been wanting to do that, and the movies. The entire weekend should be fun.” When asked if they were giving each other gifts, Rebekah said “Heck yeah!”, and Creede said “Oh yeah!” They were asked how long they have been in a relationship and how many Valentine's Days they have celebrated with each other. They claimed, “Uno years. This will be our second Valentine's Day together.”
Shania Isaac and Louie Silas were asked the same questions. For their plans, Shania claimed, “We are going to eat dinner, I might go over to his house, make sugar cookies, play games, and chill for the rest of the day.” She was asked if she got gifts for her boo. She claimed “No, but I will.” When the couple was asked how long they have been together and how many Valentine’s they have spent with each other, she claimed, “Tomorrow, February 13th, will be our 9 month anniversary. This is our first year having each other for Valentine's Day.”I, Joan Adkins, along with my boyfriend, Dawson Brinkman, also answered the questions about our Valentine's Day plans and our lovely relationship. When they were asked about plans, Joan stated, “Dawson is traveling to Anchorage for hockey on Friday, so hopefully we have plans before he leaves. I think we are going to have a visit with each other to exchange our gifts and maybe bake together and watch movies. Not on Valentine's Day. Either before or after, but whenever we get the chance to show each other how much we mean to each other, we will. Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday, and I will celebrate it whenever I get the chance, even if the actual day is unavailable to be celebrated with my significant other.” When they were asked if they got each other gifts, they stated, “Of course, lots.” The couple was also asked how long they have been together and how many Valentine's Days they have celebrated together and they claimed, “We have been together almost 3 years and this is our third Valentine's Day together.”
The middle and elementary schools have other, more structured group plans, like class parties and stuffing their gourds with heaps of candy and cookies. However you choose to celebrate your Valentine’s Day, make it great!
