Breast cancer awareness

Writer: Vaughn ArnoldVaughn Arnold

This month is breast cancer awareness month. This month focuses on women with breast cancer and helps women with it. For example there are ways to detect it early on and to know the symptoms of it. Another purpose for this month is knowing the basics of breast cancer. There are also ways on how to be healthy to lower the risks of breast cancer. If you want support on breast cancer go to https://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/breast-cancer-awareness-month/. You can find other important information about breast cancer on that website as well.

On October 2, Tok School brought awareness to breast cancer by marching from the park to Tok School. The march started at 7:30AM. People on the walk also wore as much pink as they could because pink represents the awareness of breast cancer. Breakfast was also provided by Tok School for those who went on the march. Mrs Brett, one of the staff at Tok School, said that she thought that it was important for the community to show awareness for breast cancer. Mrs Shotwell also thought that it was important for the community and students to show awareness for breast cancer research. Both Mrs Shotwell and Mrs Brett thought the walk was fun. A student, David McDermott, said that the walk was okay, and was impactful for the community and students. Wear as much pink as you can on Wednesdays this month!
