February 21-22, both the Tok teams went to Effie and Nenana for basketball games. After the games I, Vaughn Arnold, interviewed some players on the teams.
Cheyanne Hipp, one of the girl basketball players, said that the trip was alright and commented how she watched a movie at the theater in fairbanks with her team. Cheyanne said how she did better in these games than others and how her favorite game was Nenana. Cheyanna commented how the team was doing “good” until people were worrying about others and saying how they are out of position.
Ally Demit, one of the girl basketball players, liked the trip and added how it was a good time in her life because she went to the movie theater with her friends, and how she went to Taco Bell. She commented saying how she liked her performance because she made more points and rebounds than most games she played in. Nenana was her favorite game because that game offered more of a competition than other teams. Effie was her tough game.
Lucas Hipp, one of the boys basketball players, Said how he had a lot of fun by watching movies with his friends but kinda disappointed how the movie he watched was. He approved of his gameplay by the amount of points he had and blocks he got. The Effie games were his tough games and added how the Nenana was his chill game he played.
Tenyelle Gunter, one of the girl basketball players, liked the trip because she went to the movies with her team and added on how she even liked that basketball game. She also commented how eating Taco Bell was fun. Her favorite game was Nenana because she liked how it was a little more competitive than other games. Tenyelle thought she did good, and she even said she did better against Effie than Nenana.
Tok boys lost against Effie and won against Nenana. Tok girls won both games they played. The Glennallen games will be posted next week, and regionals will start next week as well.
