There are many birthdays in the community around September, and one of them is a student from Tok School named Nadine Thomas. Her birthday is on the 24th of September, exactly nine months after Christmas. This year, Nadine is celebrating her birthday with a big party. She hasn't planned the party yet but says it will be big. When asked if she was excited to turn 16, she said she didn't want to be older.
Nadine Thomas is a sophomore at Tok School. She will graduate in three years, in 2027. She started attending Tok School in the second half of her 8th-grade year, previously moving from Tetlin School. She has played volleyball here in the past but will not likely be able to play this year. Her goals for this year are to get better grades than last year's.
Nadine likes dog mushing, going on walks, and playing volleyball. Her favorite classes in school are Journalism, Art, and Biology. She doesn't have any favorite teachers; when asked, she said, ”I dislike all my teachers equally”. Her friends at Tok School are Emma, Jadyn, Waylon, and S’chaiiy.
Nadine's friends wanted to wish her a happy birthday. Emma Coulman, one of Nadine's friends, said, “Nadine I love you so much! I hope you have an amazing day!”.
Jadyn also gave her wishes, saying, “Happy birthday Nadine, you’re the best! I hope you have the best 16th birthday ever.”
"Happy Birthday Nadine, I hope you have a great birthday,” Waylon added. Then S’chaiiy wanted to add, “Stop jabbing me in the dang side, Happy birthday!”
