On November 20-21st the senior and junior classes went to Fairbanks for a CTE trip. The CTE trip was a field trip for seniors and juniors. They went to Fairbanks to attend a job fair “Expo” and tour the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). The objective of the trip was to help them figure out what they want to do in the future.
Mr. Su, the biology teacher, was one of the chaperones on the trip. He said his favorite part was, “The expo, because of the opportunities the students could get after high school.” Then his least favorite part - “Walking and waiting in the cold weather!” Mr. Su also said he would most definitely go again. “YES! Period. No comment!”
John Adkins went on the trip, too. He claimed his favorite part was, “When everyone went to the CTC wildlife fire science place,” and his least favorite part was, “The museum because we showed up when they were about to close.” Lastly, when questioned if he would go again, he replied, “Yes, because I would love to learn more about the new world and how to run the new world today.”
Shania Isaac also participated on the trip. She had a great experience on the trip and said it was, “Very demure.” Shania next talked about her favorite part: “When we went to UAF because we went on a tour of the school and there was a cafe with sushi.” Her least favorite part? “I would say the long presentation in the CTC room.” Overall Shania had a positive experience and said she would be excited to go again. “I would go again so I can sign up for any classes or jobs next year… and for sushi.”
The CTE trip is a great opportunity for the seniors and juniors to get some ideas about what jobs they want. Hopefully students who went on the trip were inspired by some of the job opportunities they saw, and it will help them choose their future career.
