Spring Break!

Spring break is coming up! There is an early release on Friday, March 13, and we have an entire week off of school from March 15 to March 24, 2025. Spring break is an opportunity for students and staff to recharge and destress from school, go on vacations, spend time with loved ones, relax, and overall just take a break from the everyday routine of school.

Rebekah Ames, a sophomore who attends Tok School was asked about her thoughts on spring break and what her plans are.  When she was asked about her plans, she stated, “I am going down to Anchorage, going skiing with Creede and his family, and I am going to meet the cast of Napoleon Dynamite!!! I get back on Tuesday, and then I will be able to go back to work for the rest of spring break so I can make some money.” I asked her what her least favorite thing about spring break was and she said “That it is too short.” (I, Joan Adkins, completely agree with that statement.) Then, Rebekah was asked why she believes spring break is important, and she claimed, “It is important so that kids can have a break from the stress of school, especially after finishing up the first quarter of semester two, and they have the opportunity to travel and have fun without missing school.”

Lindsay Brush, the high school math teacher, was also interviewed about her thoughts and plans for spring break. She was asked about her plans for spring break and she claimed, “I am going to fly to California to meet up with my sisters. We are going to visit national parks, go camping and hiking, and hopefully stargazing.” When she was asked what she dislikes about spring break, she stated, “Traveling. Getting to the place is very annoying, but the actual place is happy. But getting there… meh.” When she was asked why she thinks it is important to have a spring break she said, “I think anyone needs a break from things. It is good to get away from your everyday life. Mental health is important and we all stress each other out a lot so we all need a break.”

We hope this spring break will benefit students and get them excited for quarter four!
