Student council is in session! Tok School has elected a new student council. The council members are Jeffry Alsup, the president, Rebekah Ames, the vice president, Skyla Frank-Young, the secretary, and Lucas Hipp, the treasurer. The president runs the council meetings, the vice president helps the president make ideas, the secretary takes notes at the meeting, and the treasurer keeps track of the money the council makes.

Student council helps plan events and supports events for students. They are also responsible for filling the vending machine. Some plans the council is making so far are an assembly, the homecoming dance, spirit week and the AASG trip.

AASG is a student government conference. The AASG participants are going to Delta Junction on October 11th and will be back on October 13th. Last year AASG was in Barrow, Alaska. Skyla Frank-Young went to AASG last year, and she said, "The AASG trip last year was really fun, the activities were fun and interesting, I learned their culture, it was really cold in Barrow and there were no trees.” This year the student council and Holly Beeman are going to AASG and they are looking forward to it!

Rebekah Ames, a student council member, is happy to be on the council and be able to go to AASG. She said, ”I'm excited because I think we will do fun things like AASG. I'm also excited to make changes at this school and become more involved.” She also expressed her feelings on how the student election went. “I thought it went pretty great, I think we all work good together.”
